Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure

The Services are funded through a combination of advertising displayed on the site, sponsored placements labelled as such, and affiliate links to third-party retailers, dealers and service providers. These commercial arrangements support the operating cost of independent editorial work; no reader ever pays to access editorial content.

Some links on the Services are affiliate links. If you click one and complete a qualifying purchase or sign-up with the third party, Top10EV may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links typically appear alongside dealer bookings, insurance quotes, finance offers, home-charger retailers, tyres and accessory stores. Where a link is an affiliate link, it is marked on the page or in the surrounding text.

'Sponsored content' or 'Partner content' means content that a third party has paid to appear on the Services. Sponsored content is (a) clearly labelled as 'Sponsored' or 'Partner content' at the top of the page, (b) visually differentiated from editorial content, and (c) never included in ranked lists, review scores, buying guides or comparison outcomes. Sponsors do not receive editorial approval rights over neighbouring editorial content.

Where the Services display advertising, adverts may be delivered by third-party advertising networks. Advertisers do not receive advance sight of editorial content, do not influence what we cover, and cannot request adjustments to rankings, comparisons or reviews. Certain adverts may be personalised using cookies or similar technologies; see the Cookie Policy for controls.

Top10EV interacts with vehicle manufacturers, importers and dealers in the ordinary course of publishing about the industry — for example, requesting specification confirmations, attending public launches or borrowing a vehicle for the purpose of research and photography. Where a manufacturer or dealer has provided a vehicle, meal, travel, accommodation or hospitality in connection with a specific article, that fact is disclosed on the article. Providing such support does not entitle the manufacturer to editorial approval, changes to a review or inclusion in a ranking.

Manufacturers, dealers and advertisers cannot buy inclusion in a Top 10 list or in any ranking, comparison or 'best' feature published on Top10EV. Rankings are determined by the criteria published on the Ranking Methodology page, applied to the vehicles available in our database on the date of ranking.

Commercial and editorial functions are firewalled. Sponsors, advertisers and affiliate networks do not receive advance drafts of editorial content and cannot request adjustments to editorial content after publication other than through the normal Corrections process, which is available to anyone.

We disclose the existence and general nature of affiliate arrangements on this page and, where relevant, on the affected article. We do not publish confidential per-partner commission rates. Where a specific commission arrangement is material to a piece of editorial content, that fact will be disclosed on the affected article.
